Meditation in every day life
Meditation mindfulness flow
Meditation is an ancient yet modern practice and technique for calming and clearing the mind and immersing oneself in to an altered state. A state of consciousness which is completely different from your normal hurried day to day state of mind.
This practice often focuses on staying in the present moment as does mindfulness. Some meditation techniques can also involve focus on an object, sound or thought.
It’s a method to train attention and awareness of the mind to create a calm and clear internal state. It can be practiced anywhere at any time though is often in a stationary form or posture. It’s oftentimes been said that in prayer we speak, in meditation we listen.
While having roots in religious practices, meditation has visibly proven positive effects on stress, thus being incredibly helpful in achieving peace of mind.
Is Meditation exercise? Yes and no, but it is work and takes practice. It’s a mental exercise involving focused relaxation, and awareness of breath and of one’s thoughts. Yet on a physical level there is very little going on, except the recognition of one’s breath and posture.
Meditation helps to calm the turbulence of the mind while mindfulness can help you with navigating through it. Meditation is a discipline you may do each day while mindfulness is a skill you may practice throughout your day. An example could be crossing a road, being mindful could be quite helpful, being in a meditative state maybe not so much…
